Photo: Sanfranman59 · CC BY-SA 3.0 · Source · resized Frank Borges was an early Walnut Creek pioneer, and his family's ranch house was built in 1901. Wikipedia says the Borges family bought about 700 acres in 1899, and that the City of Walnut Creek bought the ranch in 1976.
The ranch is on the National Register of Historic Places, listed in 1981. Today the farmhouse has displays on life in the early 1900s, and the ranch still has a blacksmith shop, farm equipment, and animals cared for by Pleasant Hill 4-H.
