The story

Sunset Station was built in 1902 by the Southern Pacific Railroad. Its architect was the company's own architect, Daniel J. Patterson, who designed it in the Spanish Mission Revival style. It is also called the Southern Pacific depot.

The Sunset Limited and the Texas Eagle still serve San Antonio, but Amtrak moved to a smaller depot next door in 1998.

The station was added to the National Register of Historic Places on May 29, 1975. It was later restored by VIA Metropolitan Transit and now works as an entertainment complex.

Did you know? Sunset Station was built in 1902 by the Southern Pacific Railroad.
Historians argue about this. Many people think trains still stop at the grand old building. Wikipedia says Amtrak moved to a smaller adjacent depot in 1998, and Sunset Station became an entertainment complex.
