The story

The Arizona Biltmore opened on February 23, 1929. Brothers Warren and Charles McArthur built it with hotelier John McEntee Bowman. Three crews worked around the clock to finish it.

Many people say Frank Lloyd Wright designed it. Wikipedia says the architect was Albert Chase McArthur, who had been a draftsman for Wright. Wright consulted for four months in 1928 on the patterned "textile block" system.

Clark Gable and Carole Lombard often stayed here, and the Tequila sunrise was invented here. In 1930 the McArthurs lost control of the hotel, and chewing gum magnate William Wrigley Jr. later became the full owner.

Did you know? Three crews worked day and night to finish it.
Historians argue about this. The big debate: Wright or McArthur. Wikipedia says McArthur is the architect, with original drawings and a 1929 article to prove it.
